Investigators say a Youngstown woman begged for her life before she was fatally shot on a city street Thursday.
The revelation came during Friday's video arraignment of Dale Williams for one count of aggravated murder.
Prosecutor Dana Lantz tells 21 News that police have Williams on video confessing that he waited for 48 minutes in an alley before chasing down and shooting 46-year-old Elizabeth Pledger-Stewart of Boardman.
The mom of a 14-year-old girl was allegedly chased down in her car by Williams on Market Street.
Williams, who police say was Pledger-Stewart's boyfriend, is accused of crashing his van into the back of her car not far from a daycare center near Indianola.
As she got out of her car, Williams repeatedly fired shots at her until his gun was empty, according to police.
Lantz tells 21 New that Williams told detectives that he intended to shoot himself, or to threaten police in hopes that they would shot him.
None of that happened.
When police ordered him to get on the ground Williams complied.
Bond is set at $5 million for Williams, who remains in the Mahoning County jail.
