For the first time, a bridge in Trumbull County will honor the valley's female veterans.

Bridges in Howland, Niles and Warren will be renamed next month, including the West Market Street bridge in Warren at Mahoning Avenue.

Organizers say women are often the unsung heroes.

"We never really talk about what the women sacrificed, what women have done," Bob Marino Sr. said, veteran's liaison for the 64th district.

A ribbon cutting ceremony at the West Market Street bridge will be held October 30 at 2 p.m. The bridge will be renamed Women Veteran's Bridge.

Five female veterans from Trumbull County will speak at the ceremony.
