A building that once housed a chain restaurant outside the Southern Park Mall will be torn down to make way for another chain restaurant.

Boardman zoning officials tell 21 News that plans have been approved for construction of a BJ's Restaurant and Brew house where the former Cheddar's restaurant now stands on Route 224.

BJ’s has more than 180 restaurants in 23 states including Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The menu includes deep-dish pizzas, handcrafted beer and a hot pastry dessert topped with ice cream known as the Pizookie.

There is no word on when demolition will begin of the former Cheddar's, which closed in November after little more than three years in business.
