The Struthers community is mourning the sudden loss of a mother who gave back to the school and helped others celebrate life's milestones.

A large crowd gathered at Struthers Elementary Tuesday night to remember Kristy Wolfe Taaffe.

“She was an amazing wife, a mother to my little girls and as you can see the community, she did everything she could for the school, “ said Taaffe's husband Jimmy.

The mother of two daughters, vice president of Struthers Elementary PTA and owner of Limelight Images Photography died Sunday.

The 38-year-old biked 20 miles a day but after her ride that day, she told her husband she didn't feel good.

The family is awaiting autopsy results but suspect it was an aneurysm.

"She'd walk in a room and she would light up a room," described her mother Janet Bartell.

A sentiment echoed in the large crowd, was that she had a gift of making everyone feel special.

"We own a photography company and when there was a family or a senior that didn't have any money or didn't have enough money, she would just do it for free," commented Jimmy.

Her favorite saying now means even more.

“She always had a saying. If you said I love you, which we always said that to Kristy, she'd come back with I love you more," said Ray Wolfe, Taaffe's father.

Her kindness has been felt deep in Struthers and they're hoping to pass it on.

“Now we have to lead by her example and spread the love," explained Bartell.

A GoFundMe account has been created to help her daughters 10-year-old Mickayla and 9-year-old Gianna.

The family also plans to set up a scholarship in her name for Struthers High School seniors who are going into the arts.
