The city of Akron is set to host their own celebration for hometown NBA champion LeBron James on Thursday.

The city of Akron is set to host their own celebration for hometown NBA champion LeBron James on Thursday.
The event will be held at Lock 3 on Main Street. Gates will open at 7:00pm and admission and parking is free.
LeBron will be on-hand at the event, which is being held in collaboration with the LeBron James Family Foundation.
Students from Wheels for Education and the I Promise Network, two frequent partners of the LBJFF, will also be featured Thursday night.
LeBron James was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, went to high school at nearby St. Vincent-St. Mary, and was named Finals MVP after his Cleveland Cavaliers won their first NBA title on Sunday night.
