A Warren woman came home from work Tuesday to discover her pet had been shot, she tells police.

Her cat was found lying underneath the woman's trampoline at her Palymra Rd. home and had to be rushed for emergency treatment at Family Pet Center on Mahoning Ave.

The veterinarians that examined the cat determined it had been shot in the chest, and now its leg must be amputated.

The owner says she believes someone intentionally harmed her cat.

She's worried about her grandchildren who play in the yard and for the safety of her other cats.

The woman says she will now be keeping her pets indoors.

Warren police say they are not looking into the incident and have turned the case over to the dog warden.
