Homes, businesses and other institutions in Mercer County experienced an power outage Tuesday morning.

Power went out after  a truck struck a pole near the intersection of Perry Highway and West Market Street at around 8 a.m.

The electricity was out for approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Operations at the Mercer County Courthouse were delayed until power was restored..

The power outage also effected Mercer Jr/Senior High School for a brief period of time, but officials said they kept operations running through the use of a generator.
