The trial of a Youngstown mother accused of criminal conduct in the punishment of two of her children continued for a second day in Mahoning county common pleas court.

Tamara Julious is charged with four counts of child endangering.  Wednesday she listened as her two children, ages 9 and 11 took the stand to testify about their punishment, including whippings with a belt and being placed in what they called the "spider room" in the basement.

The defense maintains that Julious did not commit any criminal acts.

Closing arguments in the trial are expected on Thursday.
