The Youngstown Warren Regional Airport will now offer round trip flights to and from Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

The airport tells 21 News, since 2014 it has raised 1.6 million dollars from various local communities to help with marketing and advertising.

The airport has its sights set on more destinations, so the new fundraising goal is 2 million dollars.

Dan Dickten, Director of Aviation at the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport, adds that more destinations equals more convenience for Youngstown residents "People will no longer have to endure the long drive from Cleveland or Pittsburgh and even Akron-Canton to get a flight rather than just leave here on the Allegiant Airlines and go down to Florida and back."

Dan Dickten says the Youngstown financial committee was his first stop, and he plans to meet with different local communities to help with fundraising.
