Alliance City School officials are closing the high school on Thursday as a cautionary move after the discovery of bed bugs in the building.

A notice posted on the school district’s website says four bed bugs have been found in the high school over the past four days.

The notice says that a licensed pest control company has inspected and treated all impacted rooms.

As a further precaution, the high school building is closed on Thursday, March 10.

During that time, the entire building will be inspected and chemically treated.

The district plans to reopen the high school on Friday, March 11.

School officials promise to monitor the situation and take any necessary steps.

The city of Alliance is thirteen miles west of Salem, adjacent to the Mahoning – Stark County line.
