A popular downtown spot for pizza has closed its doors.
A sign posted on the doors on Wednesday at Avalon Downtown thanks customers for their business.
21 News has tried to contact co-owner Anne Massulo-Sabella, but has received no response.
Mayor John McNally told 21 News that Massulo-Sabella told him Wednesday morning the Avalon Downtown was closed, but did not give a reason why.
Avalon Downtown posted a message for their customers on their website: "Thanks for the support from all our loyal customers, but we are officially closed."
The Avalon Downtown, which opened in 2012, has been known for its Brier Hill pizza recipe, which has been a favorite among Valley locals.
The restaurant was a reincarnation of the Avalon Gardens, which shut down its Belmont Avenue location in 2012 after 90 years in business.
