Queen of Hearts winner only taking home $1 million

It may seem to most of us that a Warren woman is $1.8 million richer after winning the Queen of Hearts drawing at Barry Dyngles on Sunday.
But with that huge win comes serious financial responsibility.
Here's what we know about the winner, Molly Blair is a long-time bus driver for Trumbull County's Fairhaven Program which serves people with disabilities. That's according to Superintendent Edward Stark with the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities. He says Blair remains an employee there, and a nicer person couldn't have won the jackpot.
Although the jackpot is $1.8 million, it's important to note that Blair won't see all of that money. There's a heavy tax burden that comes with that luck. According to the experts at Liberty Tax, Blair would be in the highest tax bracket.
She won more than $1.8 million. She would be taxed almost 40%, owing the IRS about $712,000 in taxes and taking home just over $1,000,000.
Tim Gilmore is the General Manager with Liberty Tax Service in Boardman, "Whenever somebody wins big money like this they should always consult an expert first. Come up with a plan, and not just go and spend willy nilly."
Experts say it's best to consult a tax specialist from the start if you come into a lot of money, so that you know immediately what you're dealing with when it comes to taxes owed.
