Police put an end to 99 cent gas deal in Youngstown

Drivers began lining up early Thursday at a Youngstown gas station for a chance to fill up their tanks for only ninety-nine cents a gallon.
When the digital sign at the BP dropped the price from $1.99 to .99 a gallon, cars, trucks and SUV's crowded into the gas station's lot at Midlothian Boulevard and Youngstown Poland Road.
Traffic was backed up down the street as cars waited as long as 45 minutes to fill up.
"Today is our official grand opening and we take advantage of the low cost of gas and pass right on to customers. Made a few bucks in last few days and today using that to pass along to customers," said BP Manager Ike Omarin.
Although Omarin said he expected prices would stay low throughout the day, the price was increased to $1.96 by the afternoon at the request of police who said that the lines of traffic were getting out of hand.
