A forty-six-year-old Greenville woman is expected to appear in a Youngstown court room Thursday morning to begin the process of sending her back to Pennsylvania to face allegations that she murdered her husband.

On Wednesday afternoon, Amy Emmett was booked into the Mahoning County jail as a fugitive from justice.

Emmett was transferred from St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been since Sunday, July 26 when she and her husband were both shot during a confrontation between the two outside Sharon Regional Health System.

Forty-five-year-old William Emmett, an employee of the hospital, died from his wounds.

In her jail booking photo, Emmett's face appeared drawn and much different than the smiling photo provided by the Sharon Police when they announced she had been charged with first and third-degree murder in Mercer County.

Police originally thought the two were injured in a struggle over a weapon, but later concluded that she had shot him and then herself.

Investigators say her husband had just asked for a divorce.

Thursday's extradition hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m.
