Campbell man arrested for firing gun at teenager

Police in Campbell arrested a man Friday night after he allegedly fired a gun at a 15 year old boy.
According to police 45-year-old Marcus Powell, of Campbell, was arrested after police were told he charged into a crowd of people and fired shots into the air, and towards a teenager.
Police say a group of juveniles had been fighting outside near 150 Chambers Street, when Powell fired the shots, then ran back into the home.
When police arrived on scene, most of the teenagers involved in the fight, as well as the adults nearby, began to leave the scene.
However, several witnesses reported to police that they knew Powell and knew he was the man who fired the gun.
Officers went to the house where witnesses reported Powell to be, and found two woman, several, children, and Powell inside a home.
According to police, officer searched the home for weapons and found a holster for a handgun on the floor.
Police asked Powell to exit the home and used witnesses to identify Powell as the shooter.
Officials found shell casings outside one of the homes on Chambers Street, however, according to police, no handgun was found at or near the scene.
Powell was taken to the Campbell City Jail where a Boardman Police Officer performed a Gun Shot Residue test on Powell's hands.
Powell was then transported to the Mahoning County Jail to await his first court appearance on Tuesday. He faces charges of felonious assault, discharging a weapon on a prohibited premises, and having a weapon while under disability.
