Flood waters around the Mahoning River are receding after causing flooding on Sunday.

A neighborhood in Leavittsburg experienced the most extreme flooding, where waters crested at about four feet above stage before waters began receding at about 2 p.m. Sunday. The water had dropped below flood stage by Monday morning.

The Mahoning River went over it's banks by less than one foot in Warren, causing minor flooding Packard Park.  The water is predicted to drop below flood stage by noon Monday.

Thomas A Swift and Canoe City MetroParks have been closed due to flooding and will remain closed until further notice. There maybe standing water at our other parks.

FirstEnergy crews respond to scattered outages caused by downed trees and wires on Sunday.

Power outages were reported early Sunday at 461 homes and businesses in Columbiana County, and 141 FirstEnergy customers in Trumbull County.

Most of the power was restored by noon Sunday.
