Police say that a Poland man was driving the car involved in a deadly crash that shut down Interstate 680 in Youngstown Tuesday night.

Twenty-year-old Skylur Hamrick of Poland died when his Dodge Challenger slammed into a bridge abutment beneath the Indianola Avenue overpass.

The car was torn in half and and Hamrick was thrown from the wreckage.

Police are still trying to determine a number of factors that contributed to the crash including just how fast the car was going.

Witnesses told authorities the car passed them going at least 100-miles-an-hour.

The coroner is performing toxicology tests to determine if any substances may have been a factor in the crash.

I-680 was re-opened shortly after 11:30 Tuesday night.
