A 10th person now faces charges filed in connection with the shooting death of a Youngstown teenager during a violent argument.
Nine people had been previously charged in connection with the death of 17-year-old Shawn Cortez, who was fatally shot on Winona Drive on August 17, 2014 following an argument involving two separate groups of people.
On Thursday, the Mahoning County Grand Jury indicted 18-year-old David Jenkins on charges of murder, involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault, and aggravated riot.
Investigators say Jenkins, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, shot Cortez with a gun provided by his older brother Dejon Jenkins, who faces the same charges as his sibling.
An April 13 trial is scheduled for Dejon Jenkins and eight other suspects.
David Belton, Carl Fleeton, Dequann Fleeton, Rontrell White, Davar Porter, Carlisha Hammonds and Rouxje Ezell are all charged with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated riot.
Carla Higgins is charged with obstructing justice.
The charges against David Jenkins includes gun specifications which could add more prison time to his sentence should he be found guilty.
