COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Federal agents have seized ATM machines at more than a half dozen businesses in central Ohio.
WBNS-TV reports that members of a Secret Service task force raided the businesses on Tuesday, including two in north Columbus.
The ATM machines are not owned by banks. Officials say the machines can be used by criminals who launder money by making small cash deposits and withdrawals.
WBNS-TV says an investigation began a year and a half ago and has resulted in the arrests of several suspects on federal charges, including money laundering, tax fraud, identity theft and credit card fraud.
Federal authorities would not say how many people have been charged or how much money was involved in the scheme.
