A Detroit man already serving prison time will spend even more time locked up because of another deadly crime.

Twenty-six-year-old Lamont Salter was to go on trial Monday on murder charges.

The Trumbull County Grand Jury indicted Salter last year for the fatal shooting of Dshawn Scott – a 35-year-old father of two. Scott was gunned down at his home on Charles Avenue Southeast on July 9, 2012.

Before his trial got underway, Salter pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter.

He was also convicted of kidnapping, burglary and weapons violations.

He is currently five year sentence for burglary and weapons convictions was supposed to expire in 2017.

Judge Wyatt McKay sentenced Salter to ten years in prison for his latest crime..
