The Niles Law Director, city zoning department, along with the police and fire chiefs are working to have the Cottage Inn closed.

Last Friday, the Trumbull Ashtabula Geauga Drug Task Force (TAG) raided room 202 of the inn and found items for a mobile meth lab.

TAG believes the meth lab was being operated out of another room prior to the raid.

Ten people were arrested.

One of the buildings has been closed until measures are taken to decontaminate the room and ventilation system of potentially toxic chemicals.

Records showed Niles police have been called to the Cottage Inn about 32 times since 2007.

The calls were for thefts, robbery, criminal damaging, disputes, fraud and more.

Larry Moran, 41, of Niles had his bond set at $10,000 during his arraignment on Monday.  He faces charges of illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine and drug trafficking.
