After half a century in Youngstown, the Cafaro Company is moving its corporate headquarters out of the city.

21 News first reported last year that plans were in the works to move the Cafaro headquarters from its current location on Belmont Avenue.

Now an e-mail from company spokesman Joe Bell confirms that the move will take place. A news conference will take place on Tuesday, October 21, at 11:00 am in the Center Court of Eastwood Mall to unveil the plans.

The Cafaro building on Belmont Avenue has been a fixture on the north side since it was built in 1965. Bell has said that the building is antiquated, not energy efficient, and doesn't have enough room.

A new building has been under construction next to the new Residence Inn at the Eastwood Mall Complex in Niles, which is the Cafaro Company's largest retail property.

When move was first revealed, 188 people worked at the Youngstown headquarters.

Bell also notes that during Tuesday's news conference, information about an additional multi-million-dollar project will also be revealed.
