The Mahoning County Grand Jury has determined that there is enough evidence to put a former Youngstown school teacher on trial for allegedly producing and distributing sexual material involving children.

Two days after his arrest by Youngstown police, 35-year-old Paul Rektor was indicted Thursday.

Rector, who taught in the Youngstown City Schools for ten years and Youngstown Christian School until last year, faces 32 criminal counts.

Prosecutors allege that this past May, Rektor obtained and distributed photographs of nude children. Some of the children depicted were engaged in sexual activity.

On Tuesday afternoon, Youngstown Police, agents from the FBI, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at Rektor's Hollywood Avenue home.

A YPD undercover officer says Rektor shared child pornography files from a computer located at the home.

Youngstown City School Board records show Rektor was employed as an elementary school teacher in 2003. Board officials say he worked at Paul C. Bunn, East, UPLC (Now Wilson) and Williamson school until he resigned for personal reasons in June of 2013.

Police say Rektor was a teacher at Youngstown Christian School until he was laid off in June.

Rektor remains in the Mahoning County jail, and will be scheduled for arraignment in court.
