Layoffs take effect for 26 employees at Delphi Packard Electric's plant 11 in Warren.

Twenty of those workers are in the skilled trades, the others are from the production floor of the stamping plant which makes connectors.

The union says it was able to reduce the numbers of employees being laid off.

Delphi says the company continually evaluates and adjusts its global workforce based on performance and customer demand.

Employees will be eligible for unemployment compensation through the state.
