Campbell OVI checkpoint nets drug arrests

CAMPBELL, Ohio - The first OVI check point in Campbell nets a felony and misdemeanor drug arrest along with some traffic offenders.
Detective Sergeant John Rusnak says it was a joint effort by Campbell police and officers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Officers also conducted saturation patrols in the city.
"It's a great way for us to show the community we are taking an active participation in their safety. It's also a great way to interact with the public and let them know were out there for their safety, with them in mind, making sure they're safe on our streets and catching OVI offenders," Rusnak said.
Two hundred and forty people went through the check point.
The Ohio Department of Transportation also took part in setting up portable speed bumps and lights.
