ALLIANCE, Ohio - A Cuyahoga Falls man is in Stark County jail after offering cash online for a female child sex slave.

Detectives with the Alliance Police Department arrested Robert W. Thomas Jr., 36, of Tudor Street, when he showed up with cash to buy a 10-year-old girl in the city Saturday.

Police say Thomas posted an ad on an online site for an arranged marriage with someone's daughter.

An Alliance officer who works with the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began a conversation with Thomas that revealed he was looking for a girl between 5 and 8 years old to keep permanently at his home, to engage in sexual conduct with and to "train her to please him."

Police set up a meeting with Thomas when he offered $400 to the undercover detective for a 10-year-old girl.

Police say Thomas arrived to their meeting point with cash-in-hand and was arrested when he went to the officer's car to retrieve the girl.

Thomas is charged with four felonies: trafficking in persons, attempt to commit kidnapping, attempt to commit rape, and possessing criminal tools.

A search of Thomas' Cuyahoga Falls home uncovered several firearms including an assault rifle with a grenade launcher.

Thomas is being held on a $2 million bond and will be arraigned in Alliance Municipal Court Monday.

The Canton FBI office and Cuyahoga Falls Police Department assisted in the investigation.
