YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown federal courthouse is one of seven being recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency for saving taxpayer dollars through energy conservation.
The Nathanial R. Jones Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse saw a more than 20 percent reduction in energy bills.
The money was saved by installing more energy efficient outdoor lights, and reducing the buildings use of steam.
The savings amounted to nearly $24,000.
The EPA says the savings achieved by all seven courthouses was more than $600,000.
