Peterman suspended by the Penguins following arrest

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - For the first time this summer, there is some troubling off the field news for the Youngstown State football team.

Cornerback Dale Peterman has been suspended indefinitely from the team following his arrest earlier this week for failing to appear in court twice.

The YSU cornerback didn't show up for a possession of marijuana charge and speeding. He also didn't show up in Girard court for driving under suspension.

He was released on bond from both courts.

Peterman wasn't expected to play in the first couple of games due to an injury and coach Eric Wolford says his future with the team will be determined once the legal process is over.

"It's unfortunate that those types of things happen. You see them happen all over college football today. But you have to let the legal process run its course before I take action. Right now, he will be suspended indefinitely until I get a ruling from what exactly actually happened," Wolford said.
