MANSFIELD, Ohio - An inmate who escaped from the Mansfield Correctional Institution, prompting a nationwide manhunt, has turned himself in.
The U.S. Marshal's office says 47-year-old James David Myers is now on his way back to prison. They say Myers went to an Ashland convenience store to turn himself in.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Richland County Sheriff's deputies, and Mansfield police had been coordinating the search for Myers after his Wednesday night escape.
Myers is from Mogadore in Summit County.
He was serving time for kidnapping, rape and aggravated burglary, and wasn't scheduled for parole for 37 more years.
