WARREN, Ohio - The state's top investigative agency is now looking into the case of a Warren police officer who is currently on paid administrative leave.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation confirms that it is assisting the Warren Police Department's inquiry into officer Reuben Shaw.
A letter from police chief Eric Merkel says that an on-duty officer towed a vehicle from a private residence to his own property without permission.
Shaw was ordered to surrender his badge, gun and identification cards.
Chief Merkel says he requested the assistance of BCI to avoid any appearance of impropriety.
