Former spa parlor reopens in Austintown
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - When the last massage parlor in Austintown closed, township trustees passed a resolution with stricter regulations for any new parlor that wanted to open in the township.
Now a former massage parlor, The "76 Spa" has reopened on 76 Drive.
Trustee chairman Jim Davis says the business will be required to meet all of the new guidelines.
"They've already applied they've been inspected by police, fire and zoning. They met our requirements as far as that is concerned and now within 60 days they'll reapply under our new statute," Davis says.
The new guidelines require a health inspection of the facility and testing of employees.
The owner of the building must also be named on the permit. Davis says the owners are cooperating with the township to be in compliance.
