Students, staff return to Canfield Middle school after morning evacuation

CANFIELD, Ohio - Police officials have confirmed that students and staff have returned back to Canfield Middle School after a morning evacuation.
Students at Canfield Village Middle School were evacuated following a reported bomb threat. The superintendent tells 21 News he did not believe it is a credible threat but said that the school and police were taking the threat "very seriously."
Canfield Superintendent Alex Geardon said the school found a note in the gymnasium this morning as the students were coming in. Neither police or school officials would confirm what the note said, but have evacuated the entire middle school to Canfield High School as a precaution.
Police have confirmed receiving word from the district shortly after 8 a.m. and performed a sweep of the school. Assistant Police Chief Scott Weimer said that nothing was found in the search.
