Youngstown Municipal Court Records now available on the Internet
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - It's a project at least seven years in the making, but now Youngstown Municipal Court records can be accessed on line.
The Youngstown Municipal Court records posted include criminal and civil cases as well as traffic tickets and citations.
The Clerk of Courts, Sara Brown-Clark, says that not only can the electronic court records be accessed by attorneys and defendants who need information, but the general public can also benefit, "If you're a property owner and you're renting and you want to find out if people have been evicted. If you want to check credit references. So it is a very critical component for day to day operations for a variety of people in the community."
Judge Elizabeth Kobly applauds the clerk of courts, the court administrator, the staff and judges for creating the electronic records that are also part of a statewide network that allows records to be searched by law enforcement agencies and courts from all over Ohio. The updating of the court's computer systems and purchase and upkeep of the software will be funded by court costs and fines.
