STRUTHERS, Ohio- Struthers police uncovered dozens of neglected animals inside a house Monday while investigating a complaint about a foul odor.
27 cats and one dog were found inside the State Street house, many covered in fleas and sores, Valarie Crawford of Animal Charities said.
"The second you walked in you could smell the smell of urine and feces built up over a long period of time. There were cats contained in cages in each room you went into," Crawford said.
The animals will be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine if they need to be euthanized.
Two people who were living inside the house were ordered to leave and the house was deemed uninhabitable.
