A deer trapped in a fence behind the Braceville Township Fire Station was freed by firefighters Sunday.
The Braceville Fire Department said the on-duty crew was alerted to the animal caught in the fence along the Ohio Turnpike.
Lt. Colton Garland and firefighter/EMT Anthony Jackman responded with bolt cutters. Garland climbed over the fence to support the deer’s weight while Jackman cut the fence to free its leg.
After the leg was freed and pulled a few feet from the fence, the deer jumped up and ran into nearby woods, the department said.
