POLICE: House involved in deadly Masury standoff burglarized days later
Just days after a deadly standoff at a home in Masury, police say that same home has been burglarized.
According to a police report from Brookfield PD, police were called to the home on the 500 Block of Lucy Street December 26 for a report of a burglary.
A woman told police someone had broken into the home and stole a washing machine and several other items at some point someone had broken into the home, as well as the garage the day before.
The woman told police that was the only day she was not at the home.
Police say the garage door appeared to have been kicked in and the thief had taken various power tools from inside.
From there, police checked the back door of the home, which also appeared to have been forced open. The door led to the laundry room where the washing machine was missing.
Police say the home's water had to be shut off due to water running out of the lines.
Police say three TVs were also taken from different rooms of the house.
The home was involved in a standoff that claimed the life of 57-year-old Jane Payton and resulted in the arrest of 57-year-old Andrew Reedy, who is charged with aggravated murder and aggravated burglary, both with firearm specifications.
Police did not say if this crime could have been connected to the standoff in any way and no suspects have been revealed at this time.
