Sheetz looking to build new location at busy Columbiana County crossroad
A former truck stop in Columbiana County is looking to be redeveloped as Sheetz, which will include a service station, convenience store, and parking lot.
The location has applied for Ohio EPA approval and is looking to build on the northwest corner of State Route 7 and State Route 14 in Columbiana County, directly west of the Town Center at Firestone Farms shopping complex.
The nearly 8-acre parcel was purchased for $1.75 million on November 1, 2023, by Firestone Crossing LLC, headquartered at 1305 Boardman Canfield Road in Boardman and was created to do business in the state on September 28 of the same year.
The plans for the facility show the anticipated building to be 6,139 sq. ft., and it is looking to break ground for the project in 2025.
The same parcel was last sold in 1996 for $76,000.
The truck stop on the property that is closed was first built in 1954.
Sheetz is a company based in Altoona, PA. It has more than 750 locations in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and Michigan.
