The Ryan Blaney Foundation and Spokes of Hope worked together to help their hometown community through a giveaway at the Sharon Speedway.

The two gave out food and household items like cleaning supplies, personal care products and household essentials this afternoon, Aug. 16.

Both organizations are tied to Trumbull County - Spoke's of Hope's founder is from Brookfield and the Blaney's are Hartford natives.

"In life we all go our separate ways," said Shane Zoccole, founder and director of Spokes of Hope. "We're living across the country but to be able to come back and give back to our community, to a hometown, to a racetrack where Lou Blaney was the founder. - it's incredible."

Community members were able to pick up supplies while still in their vehicles as volunteers packed them.

Organizers of the event prepared for an upward of 800 to 1,000 people to attend the event.
