Champion Township Trustee dies at 68
A Champion Township Trustee has died at the age of 68.
According to an obituary, trustee William "Bill" Templeton has died of a heart attack at the age of 68. Trustees tell us Templeton has served on the Board for four terms.
In addition to serving as a trustee, Templeton has served his community in other ways including running two businesses named after his children: Dustin Energy and Royal Lindsay Acres.
21 News caught up with Champion Township's other two trustees who tell us it will be a struggle to find someone to replace him.
"Bill was a true servant of the community. We will miss his presence and struggle to find a new person to replace him," said Trustee Doug Emerine.
Meanwhile Trustee Rex Fee described Templeton as a "steward of the community" who wanted the best for the township.
Calling hours will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday July 23 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, July 24 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will take place following Wednesday's calling hours.
