A New Jersey woman is spending the weekend in jail after State Troopers say she led them on a 110 miles per hour chase along the Ohio Turnpike in Trumbull County.

Trooper Rick Caraway tells 21 News he tried to pull over a Nissan Maxima doing 90 in a 70 mph stretch of the turnpike in Braceville Township Saturday afternoon.

Caraway says the driver, later identified as 33-year-old Esther Paragulla of Edison, New Jersey, didn’t stop but instead tried to drive away with speeds ranging from 102 to 110 miles per hour.

The pursuit continued for nearly 30 miles until the Nissan ran over spiked stop strips placed by Troopers along the toll road near Hudson in Summit County.

The car continued to travel another seven miles until cruisers could block it off.

Caraway said they had to smash the car window when the driver refused to open the car door.

Paragulla is in the Portage County Jail on charges of speeding, refusing to obey a police order, and resisting arrest.
