Flames raced through a tractor-trailer early Tuesday at Hubbard's Truck World.

Crews from the Eagle Joint Fire District were dispatched to the truck stop at Route 62 and Interstate 80 shortly before 6 a.m. after a truck driver reported the fire in another truck.

A woman sleeping in the truck smelled smoke and woke up her companion. Both got out of the cab and were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.

The first firefighters to arrive reported that flames had spread throughout the truck's engine compartment and cab, melting the front tires and forcing nearby trucks to move away from the danger.

Investigators are looking for the cause of the fire.
