Company officials say they are trying to find out why an Endurance test vehicle went up in flames over the weekend at the Foxconn facility in Lordstown.

Firefighters from Lordstown, Warren Township, Newton Falls, and North Jackson were called out to the plant on Hallock Young Road just after 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to a statement from Lordstown Motors, the electric pickup truck described by the company as “non-salable” was being kept in storage at the time of the fire which investigators say destroyed the vehicle.

Firefighters were on the scene for about two hours, and no one was injured.

In January 2021, a fire destroyed an Endurance prototype on a test drive in Michigan.
