One lane of I-80E remains open Saturday evening after a semi-truck trailer caught fire.

It happened around 3:20 p.m. in the eastbound lane near milepost 221 near the I-76 merge between North Jackson and Austintown.

A semi-truck was driving when the rear trailer axle caught fire.

The driver was able to move the truck to the right shoulder before it became disabled.

The trailer and load received extensive damage from the fire. However, no damage was done to the truck.

Eastbound traffic on Interstate 80 was stopped for around three hours.

The left lane is currently open and will remain so while the cleanup continues.

Ohio Department of Transportation and Austintown Fire remain on scene.

No injuries were reported.

Austintown and Jackson Fire Department were on scene.

Austintown Police, Milton Police, and Jackson Police assisted on the scene with traffic.
