A world record was set at the Canfield Fair Monday.

The Mahoning County Junior Fair hosted the world's largest goat parade.

John James, the head of the junior goat committee, says that the world record book didn't even have a standard for the world's largest goat parade, so Guinness set up a few requirements.

The goats had to be over a year old, and the parade must be at least 100 meters long.

"The Guinness World Records book did not currently have a standard for the world's largest goat parade; none had been done. So we talked with them, we set a baseline of 50 goats. We were able to have 62 goats out today, so that exceeded what their standards were. Now we will send the final documentation to them for final approval," said James.

There were goats of all sizes, from large dairy goats to Nigerian dwarfs.

James is not sure how long it will take to find out if they will be featured in the book of world records, but his only goal was to give the Junior Fair youth a fun and memorable way to end the fair and that mission was accomplished.
