North Jackson church donates hogs to local charities
The First Federated Church of North Jackson purchased and donated two hogs to charities from local 4H members.

The First Federated Church of North Jackson purchased and donated two hogs to charities from local 4H members.
The church has alternated the donation between the Rescue Mission and Second Harvest Food Bank for more than ten years, but this year they decided to double up.
"We are fortunate to have had so many dedicated donors to our food pantry outreach program this year, that we are able to share with all the people that need it most," says Pastor Jack Acri. "And there is the added bonus of supporting additional youth in 4H."
The meat from the hogs, purchased from Aidan Pellin and Karl Krol, both of the Jackson-Milton Livestock Club, is enough to fill two upright freezers.
"We are especially grateful to Fred and Shirley Houston from Grinding Equipment of Youngstown for their support of our pantry," said Charities Board Member Jennifer LaLime. "Because we donate a hog for others, they purchase one for us to distribute. It's a huge help."
