Penguin City Beer is celebrating success at its location in the heart of the city.

The local distributor is now leasing space at the B&O Station Banquet Hall on Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown.

Before this move, they were contract brewing at Paladin Brewing in Youngstown.

Now Penguin City Beer is doing all the brewing on their own.

They produce between 110 and 120 barrels per month.

They held a ribbon-cutting Friday afternoon to commemorate their grand opening.

They spoke about their efforts to be a part of the revitalization downtown.

"I love being in downtown," said co-owner Aspasia Lyras." One of our goals with this company was to be in downtown Youngstown; to help be a part of the revitalization. And I felt that the company needed to be in the heart of the city."

Penguin City Beer is already expanding with new adult beverages including a hard seltzer called "Lost River."

"I think that is going to be a nice product to roll out," said Lyras.
