Warren police say social media threats directed toward a Warren school led to the arrest of a 19-year-old man.
Officers say the found Armonte Lewis North sleeping in his car outside his mother's Hamilton Street SW home Friday morning.
Police had been looking for North after learning that some students at River Gate High School were nervous about coming to class because North had allegedly posted threats on his Snapchat account.
A caller told police that North might seriously harm students at the school, which is for students aged 16 to 21 who would be traditionally enrolled in grades 9-12.
Investigators say North's Snapchat posts stated, “I got something for y'all. Just wait and see.” Police say there was also a post stating that North wanted to drive his car through a building.
After talking with the prosecutor, police waited for North to show up at the school early Friday.
When he failed to show, police went to the home of North's mother who told officers that he doesn't stay at the home, but lives in his car.
Police used their cruisers to block the front and the back of North's car before knocking on the window.
North surrendered to officers who took him to the Trumbull County Jail on a charge of inducing panic.
He's scheduled for arraignment in Warren Municipal Court.
