The estimated 7,800 cars and trucks that drive a stretch of State Route 46 in Bazetta Township each day will need to take a detour for a few weeks beginning Tuesday.

The Ohio Department of Transportation plans to shut down Route 46 just south of Route 305 beginning Tuesday, September 3, 2019, for a culvert replacement.

The culvert replacement was initially supposed to begin next week but was pushed back.

ODOT expects the closure to continue through late-September.

The recommended detour is State Route 305 to State Route 11 to State Route 82.

The $400,000 culvert replacement is scheduled to be completed next month.
