This week General Motors announced it would halt production at a 78-year-old transmission plant in Warren, Michigan.

GM announced that it would suspend production at that and several other plants including Lordstown last year.

Sixty of the 200 workers in the Warren plant have relocated, and 25 have retired.

GM said that it has jobs available for every nearly every hourly worker at the affected plants if they are willing to relocate.

This closure comes just a few weeks after the UAW and GM officials met to discuss contract negotiations.
