United Steelworkers reach contract agreement with Arconic in Niles
The United Steelworkers Locals 2155 and 2155-7 and Aronic Steel in Niles have agreed on a multi-year contract after more than a year of negotiations.

United Steelworkers Representative Jose Arroyo tells 21 News that the Union is extremely happy with the outcome.
"It was long bargaining, it was tedious, and our members hung in there," Arroyo said, "It was important to keep those jobs, it means a lot to the community."
Arroyo said that the production and maintenance workers approved their contract by nearly two-to-one. That vote was 311-114.
The office and clerical workers voted 36-1 in favor of their contract.
Arconic Niles Operations said that they entered negotiation, hoping to secure a long-term contract that was fair to employees and would position the company for growth.
Arconic said that the new agreement is a good outcome for their employees, shareholders, customers, and local communities.
The current contract will expire on April 30, 2022.
